Description

In the evolving landscape of legal practice, newer technologies and platforms present unique challenges to maintaining attorney-client privilege. This CLE course explores the risks associated with using shared collaboration tools and artificial intelligence, providing essential guidelines for safeguarding privileged communications. Attorneys will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to navigate these technologies without compromising confidentiality, with practical advice and case studies to illustrate key points.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the Fundamentals of Attorney-Client Privilege:
    1. Define attorney-client privilege and the attorney work product doctrine.
    2. Recognize key elements and limitations of privileged communications.
  2. Identify Risks Associated with New Technologies:
    1. Examine how online collaboration tools and AI impact attorney-client privilege.

  3. Implement Best Practices for Safeguarding Privilege:
