Description

This CLE course offers a practical, ethics-informed look at how attorneys can implement technology to increase efficiency, streamline client engagement, and grow their practices. Led by trial lawyer and tech entrepreneur Robert Simon, the session covers real-world applications of AI call centers, automated lead management, and digital referral systems. Attendees will explore how these technologies can be ethically integrated into daily workflows while aligning with ABA guidelines on competence, confidentiality, and professional marketing. Designed for lawyers at all levels of tech fluency, this course empowers participants to confidently navigate the evolving landscape of legal technology and client service.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify emerging technologies—such as AI-driven call centers and CRM systems—that can streamline law firm operations and client communication.
  2. Evaluate the benefits and limitations of automation tools in legal marketing, client intake, and referral management.
  3. Understand how to responsibly integrate technology into practice while maintaining compliance with the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct, including Rules 1.1 (Competence), 1.6 (Confidentiality), and 5.3 (Supervision of Nonlawyers).
  4. Develop a foundational tech stack tailored to solo and small firm needs, including tools for lead management, digital engagement, and secure communication.
  5. Apply best practices for maintaining data privacy, protecting client information, and minimizing technology-related ethical risks.
