Workplace holiday parties can be valuable opportunities for team building and morale — but they also present unique and often underestimated legal and ethical risks for employers. While many assume that off-site or after-hours events fall outside the scope of workplace liability, employees, vendors, and even third-party guests can create exposure under Title VII, state anti-discrimination statutes, gender-violence laws, and common-law tort theories. Plaintiff’s employment attorney and former EEOC trial lawyer Laura Feldman examines the legal framework governing misconduct at work-sponsored social events and provides actionable strategies for reducing risk before, during, and after your office celebration. The program also addresses inclusive holiday practices, gift-giving rules, wage/hour considerations, and how to conduct post-event investigations.
