Description

Technology has revolutionized the legal profession—but with innovation comes responsibility. This CLE explores how lawyers can effectively and ethically leverage technology to enhance productivity, improve client service, and maintain compliance with professional obligations. From AI tools to client communication platforms and cybersecurity measures, this session breaks down what’s possible and what’s permissible under the rules of professional conduct. Participants will leave with practical guidance for integrating tech into their practice without compromising ethical standards.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify key ethical obligations under the ABA Model Rules related to the use of technology in law practice.
  2. Evaluate the benefits and risks associated with common legal technologies
  3. Apply best practices for safeguarding client confidentiality in digital environments.
  4. Understand how to meet the duty of technological competence.
  5. Develop policies and procedures for ethically integrating new tech tools into a legal practice.
