Description

In the highly competitive world of legal services, effective marketing is essential for lawyers to attract the right clients and build trust. "Easy and Innovative Marketing for Lawyers of All Ages" explores the “why” behind marketing and its impact on client retention, perception, and trust.  Ethical marketing practices are emphasized as key to cultivating trust and respect among audiences to help overcome the inherent skepticism associated with legal practitioners.  This course will provide the tools necessary to attract the clients you want without making your firm another lawyer joke.  By the end of this course, participants will have the practical skills to implement easy marketing strategies that resonate with current and potential clients. Whether a seasoned practitioner or a new lawyer, this course equips legal professionals with the tools necessary to thrive in today's competitive legal landscape.

Learning Objectives:

  1.  Understand the significance of marketing in the legal profession
  2. Analyze and assess the perceptions potential clients hold about lawyers and legal services
  3. Identify and differentiate between ethical and unethical marketing practices, recognizing the impact of each on public perception and trust in the legal profession.
  4. Define and develop an ideal client persona through targeted exercises, including imagining and describing the characteristics of the ideal client and aligning personal values with client preferences.
  5. Utilize the language of values to tailor marketing messages and communications to resonate with the desired target audience, fostering trust and connection.
  6. Map the client's digital journey to understand their questions, concerns, and search behaviors when seeking legal services, and identify opportunities to engage with potential clients across owned, earned, and paid media channels.
  7. Develop a comprehensive digital brand plan, incorporating social media trends and best practices to maximize visibility, engagement, and conversion of potential clients.
  8. Apply easy and innovative marketing strategies learned throughout the course to attract and retain clients of all ages, ultimately contributing to the growth and success of the legal practice.

Since 2020, Lauren Ellerman has been named top 100 attorneys in Virginia by Super Lawyer Magazine, and top 50 female attorneys.  In 2018 Lauren was featured in Virginia Living Magazine for her work inside and outside the courtroom. In 2016, she became the chair of the Long Term Care Committee and joined the Board of Virginia Trial Lawyers (VTLA). In 2013, she was named to “Influential Women of Virginia” by Virginia Lawyers Weekly. She was also honored as “Young Lawyer of the Year” by the Roanoke Bar Association for her community leadership. She helps clients in a range of civil litigation matters, including medical malpractice, and business litigation. In 2015 she received an AV rating from Martindale Hubble. In 2016, she was named a Fellow in the Law by the Virginia Law Foundation and has been the youngest Superlawyer in Medical Malpractice for the Commonwealth of Virginia since 2016.  Lauren’s practice is focused on Medical Malpractice, Non-Compete litigation and Nursing Home Abuse and Neglect.  In 2016, she was named the youngest Medical Malpractice Super Lawyer in Virginia by Superlawyers Magazine. In 2020 she was named the BEST Lawyer in America in Roanoke for Plaintiff’s Medical Malpractice, and the first female to receive the nomination.

Most of her time is spent helping families after medical trauma in cases of wrongful death, serious injury and medical malpractice. She has taught and lectured throughout the state advising other attorneys on trial skills, discovery, client services and more.
